We're having some issues w/ DNS for site assets (CSS, images,
sidebars) while switching DNS providers. Really sorry about this, we
hope to have the issue resolved soon though it might take a few hours
for all the DNS to propagate.

It's really exciting to be able to officially announce this. I (Brett) have been working with the Posterous guys for a while now and am very happy to be joining the team. Slinkset is in good hands and Posterous has more exciting things coming down the pipe than I can even keep track off.

On a bittersweet note, I don't get to work with John on a day to day basis anymore. But I'm sure he's on to bigger and better things and we'll figure out how to collaborate in the future.

Oh. And thanks to blog import and imminently pending theming this blog has a new home.

2009 Silicon Alley Award Nominate companies for Silicon Alley Insider's first annual awards

That's right, our friends at Silicon Alley Insider are using slinkset to let users submit companies they would like to nominate, or vote on companies that have already been nominated.  There are 5 different categories that a company can be nominated for and there is 1 special category for the individual.  To learn more about this and to find out what the categories are...please check out this post over at SAI. The movie is still in post-production, but check out the trailer for sure... it's only 3:04 and super interesting.  I think it's pretty impressive what she is out there doing.

If you're planning a wedding... BrideTide is a great place for a ton of different wedding information.  There are categories for Cakes, Invitations, Tips & Advice, Fashion and more. This site is a great example of how you can use slinkset to take a niche subject and build a wealth of useful information around it.

Hahagreat.com : the best stuff on the web The creators of this site are relying on donations instead of ads to help  them as the continue to build their community. "We are asking for donations instead of running ads. Ads and donations amount to the same thing, money. We believe that a donation powered site contributes more to a sense of community than an ad based site. Ads also take people away from the site where WE want to keep you coming back to our site." J-Startup News The latest on journalism startups and new business models for news "JStartup news, a place for news people to discuss, rate, and share news and commentary about journalism startups, new business models for news, hacker journalism and anything else that falls along these lines." J-Startup News was created by Brad Flora.  He is a journalist working on a startup news aggregator and blog network in Chicago called The Windy Citizen.  I strongly suggest people check out his site, it's really slick. At J-Startup News there is some great content being posted about what's going on in the world of news and journalism, both on and offline.  The comment threads are very insightful and I encourage everyone to take the time to read through some of them.
