Slinkset is elated to be part of Posterous!

by brett gibson ~ June 24th, 2009

It's really exciting to be able to officially announce this. I (Brett) have been working with the Posterous guys for a while now and am very happy to be joining the team. Slinkset is in good hands and Posterous has more exciting things coming down the pipe than I can even keep track off.

On a bittersweet note, I don't get to work with John on a day to day basis anymore. But I'm sure he's on to bigger and better things and we'll figure out how to collaborate in the future.

Oh. And thanks to blog import and imminently pending theming this blog has a new home.

Damned. Does that mean that the Slinkset is going to disappear? That would really be a shame! I just discovered what Slinkset makes possible, and I was heading to the blog to find resources onto features I'd like to see included...

Not at all. The plan is for Slinkset to remain operational.

Congrats on this guys!
Is there going to be anyone working on slinkset going forward? ie will there be any more feature developments such as tags or allocating feeds to categories?
Thanks,
Pete

Cool news - but will slinkset be back up and running soon? or has it gone for good?

Hi Slinkset people. We recently set up a site on Slinkset (see http://irgo.slinkset.com) and was on the cusp of accepting submissions for a conference we are running. We put some work into it and were happy with the service. However, we had no idea that the service would disappear despite accepting new accounts.

Can we get access to the site we set up?
Are we going to be able to use it again or slinkset swallowed by posterous (two totally different services incidentally)?

Appreciate any clarity on this.

Great, thanks for responding Brett. Note that we plan to use slinkset over the next couple of months. Do you envisage any problems or downtime over this period?

sorry, not sure where else to say this. slinkset has incredible potential for very high-scale aggregating/producing. but i think one central aspect of that is categorization of feeds, which i'm sure you've considered. what does the slinkset of the future look like?
